This policy explains what information Gitsey collects, why, and who it is shared with. Gitsey, Inc. ("Gitsey," "we," "us") operates the Gitsey POS app and the gitsey.com marketplace.

Who uses Gitsey

  • **Shop owners and staff** who run their store on Gitsey POS.
  • **Shoppers** who browse gitsey.com to find local products.

Information we collect

**From shop owners (account holders):**

  • Account details: email address and password (passwords are stored securely

    • and never visible to us).

  • Owner name, and shop details you enter: shop name, address, phone, hours,

    • and your sales-tax rates.

  • Your products, inventory, and the sales you ring up.
  • Product photos you take, which our AI uses to draft listings.

**From shoppers using gitsey.com:**

  • Search terms you type, and an approximate location (such as a ZIP code) when

    • you choose to search near you. We use these in aggregate to help local shops understand what their neighbors are looking for.

**Automatically:**

  • Basic technical information such as device type, app version, IP address,

    • and general usage events, used to keep the service working and to fix problems.

**We do NOT collect or store payment card numbers.** When a card payment is processed, it is handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe.

How we use information

  • To provide the point-of-sale, inventory, storefront, reporting, and

    • receipt features you use.

  • To generate product listings from your photos (AI assistance).
  • To show shoppers real, in-stock products at nearby shops.
  • To produce aggregated, anonymized insights that help local shops (for

    • example, what products shoppers are searching for and can't find locally).

  • To diagnose errors and improve reliability and security.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share information with (service providers)

Gitsey relies on trusted service providers to operate, each handling only what their function requires:

  • **Supabase** — secure database, authentication, and file storage.
  • **Stripe** — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • **Anthropic (Claude)** — AI that drafts product listings from photos.
  • **Resend** — sending receipt and report emails you request.
  • **Railway** — application hosting.
  • **Sentry** — error monitoring.
  • **US Census Geocoder / zippopotam.us** — converting addresses and ZIP codes

    • to map locations.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Email receipts

When a shop emails a customer a receipt, that customer's email address is used only to send that receipt. It is not added to a marketing list.

Data retention and your choices

  • Shop owners can edit their shop information any time in Settings, and can

    • cancel their subscription and request account deletion by contacting us.

  • We keep business records (such as sales) as long as the account is active or

    • as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes.

Children

Gitsey is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change when we do. Material changes will be communicated to account holders.
